We prioritise the development of number fluency, recognising its importance as the foundation for further developing pupils' mathematical understanding. This fluency underpins pupils' ability to apply mathematical knowledge in reasoning and problem-solving. Daily maths lessons alongside mathematical fluency sessions are embedded into our curriculum, allowing pupils to practise recalling key facts across a range of mathematical concepts, including shape, space, measure, geometry, fractions, decimals, percentages, statistics, ratios, and proportion.
Our aspirational curriculum fosters a deep understanding of mathematics through clear, structured teaching that builds on prior knowledge. Pupils are challenged while engaging in lessons that are accessible and motivating and that utilise a range of resources to support understanding.
